The Selby Research Award provides funds to assist an outstanding early career academic to establish their research career in Chemistry or a Chemistry-related discipline.
The value of the award is $21,000.
Preference will be given to applicants who plan to use the funds in 2021 to further their research activities and whose research proposal involves a new collaboration either with industry or a team of interdisciplinary researchers.
Eligibility:
1.Preference will be given to academic staff currently in a continuing position and holding a minimum of a 0.5 FTE Teaching and Research (T&R) appointment at Level B or C in Chemistry or a Chemistry-related discipline. Candidates must be within 10 years of completing their PhD.
Previously successful T&R applicants can reapply if their proposed research differs from their previous application, although preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received Selby funding.
2.Consideration will also be given to fixed-term T&R academic staff Level B or C (minimum 0.5 FTE appointment and within 10 years of completing a PhD) and research only Level A and B academics (within 5 years of completing a PhD) with a track record demonstrating high research capacity if their current appointment at the University of Melbourne extends until 31 December 2021.
