About the Scholarship

This is an annual prize for students completing the third year of study in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine who can demonstrate their interest in the field of laboratory animal welfare and non-standard clinical practice.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

  • be enrolled in the third year of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

Selection Criteria

The prize will be awarded:

  • To the student whose written submission (up to 500 words) clearly demonstrates their interest in the field of laboratory animal welfare and non-standard clinical practice.
  • The statement should demonstrate an active interest in the chosen area – e.g. chosen research projects, EMS placements, external volunteering or work, track chosen (but should not be limited to a particular track), how it relates to the promotion of animal welfare and how the student plans to use this education/experience in their future career.
  • The statement can also provide details on encouraging other students to consider what else they can do outside of traditional veterinary practice

 

Scholarship valued up to $2,500 awarded annually.

Outcome

All scholarship outcomes will be sent via SmartyGrants.
