To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be enrolled in the Bachelor of Science Honours, Master of Science, Master of Philosophy – Science, Master of Industrial Research (Chemistry), or Doctor of Philosophy – Science (or their successors) and
- If enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy – Science, have met the requirements for confirmation of your degree
- Be undertaking research in the field of Biochemistry.
The committee uses the following definition of Biochemistry: 'Biochemistry is the study of the structure and function of components of living cells, focusing on understanding at the molecular level the biological processes that enable all living things to survive and thrive. Biochemistry focuses on the relationship of molecular structure and function, the flow of chemical energy in metabolism and the molecular processes that regulate cell and tissue behaviour.'
