About the Scholarship

The Nancy Millis Agricultural Students Scholarship, established in 2010 by an anonymous gift, honours Emeritus Professor Nancy Millis AC MBE (1922-2012), agricultural science alum, distinguished microbiologist, pioneering biotechnologist, and renowned educator.

This scholarship will fund one or more scholarships for students living in rural areas and in financial need studying agriculture at the University of Melbourne.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • be commencing or enrolled in a Bachelor of Agriculture or a Master of Agricultural Sciences
  • be an Australian citizen, Permanent Resident or the holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa
  • meet the rural student requirement
  • demonstrate financial need by submitting the Student Financial Assessment Form 
     

Selection criteria

Selection is based on:

  • demonstrated financial need

Applicants need to submit a Student Financial Assessment (SFA) Form to be considered for this award

Outcome

All scholarship outcomes will be sent via SmartyGrants.

  • Round 1 (Jan-March applications): May-July
  • Round 2 (June-August applications): September-October
