Leo Stach Memorial Scholarship 2026

Mr Leo W Stach of Middle Park established a scholarship to assist a student of Geology at the University. Mr Stach, who held an M.Sc. from the University, had spent his working life in the petroleum and mineral sector, often in remote parts of the world, and had provided advisory services to the United Nations as well as to many government agencies.

This scholarship is awarded to second-year Bachelor of Science students, studying geology, and experiencing financial need

To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

• Be enrolled in the Bachelor of Science and have completed 100 credit points
• Have completed both subjects ‘The Global Environment’ and ‘Understanding Planet Earth’ (or their successors) with a weighted average mark of at least 80%
• Demonstrate Financial Need by completing the online Student Financial Assessment Form by the due date of the form

Eligible candidates will be ranked based on:

• Level of disadvantage based on University financial aid assessment

Students must:

• continue into the Geology major in their third year for payment to continue.

All scholarship outcomes will be sent via SmartyGrants.
