About the Scholarship

The John Hodgson Scholarship was established with a gift from Iona Hodgson and is offered to students who are enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy in the Faculty of Science.

It is awarded biennially in odd years. 

Eligibility

To be considered for this award, you must be enrolled in the second year of the Doctor of Philosophy in the Faculty of Science.

In 2025, the award is open to students in the schools of BioSciences and MVS.

Selection Criteria

The scholarship is offered to eligible students ranked highest by the selection panel based on the quality of their application.

Conditions

Students must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
