F.H. Drummond Travel Award 2026

The FH Drummond Travel Award was established in 1990 by Mrs Margaret Drummond in memory of her late husband, Dr Frank Harvey Drummond. Dr Drummond joined the then Department of Zoology as a demonstrator in 1931, eventually becoming a Reader in Zoology prior to his retirement in 1974.

The FH Drummond Travel Award was established with a gift from Mrs Margaret Drummond in memory of her late husband Frank Harvey Drummond and is offered to students who are enrolled in a research degree in Zoology and are undertaking overseas travel for research participation or conference attendance as part of their degree.

To be considered for this award, you must:

• Be enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy – Science
• Be undertaking research in the field of Zoology.

The award is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on the quality of their overall application.

You must submit an application and include:

• Personal statement addressing how the travel will benefit your research
• Statement of support from your supervisor
• Evidence of acceptance at an overseas institution or conference registration.

You must:

• Undertake the travel for which the award was provided
• Agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.

All scholarship outcomes will be sent via SmartyGrants.
