D C Blood Prize 2026

The D.C. Blood Prize was established with a gift from the Blood family and is offered to students who are enrolled in a graduate research degree with the Melbourne Veterinary School for undertaking travel for the purpose of presenting their research at a conference.

To be considered for this prize, you must:

• Be enrolled in a graduate research degree in the Melbourne Veterinary School and have met the requirements for confirmation of your candidature
• Be enrolled at the time of the proposed travel and not have submitted your thesis or be on a leave of absence.

The award is offered to the student who are ranked highest by the selection panel based on their personal statement and letter of endorsement from their supervisor. When determining the successful candidate for this prize, other awards received by candidates are considered.

You must submit an application and provide:

• A statement outlining the benefits of the proposed travel for your research and future aspirations
• Details of the proposed travel, including purpose of travel, itinerary, and cost estimates
• Letter of endorsement from your supervisor or head of school
• Evidence of accepted conference presentation

All scholarship outcomes will be sent via SmartyGrants.
