Cross and Robertson Family Prize for Excellence in Urban Horticulture 2026

The Cross and Roberson Family Prize for excellence in Urban Horticulture was established with a gift from Anne Robertson, Rob Cross and Lena McEwan and Dame Joyce Daws and is awarded to second year masters students who have demonstrated academic excellence and passion for sustainable horticulture, and graduating students who have demonstrated academic excellence and an active involvement in Burnley campus life. 

To be considered for this prize, students must, in the awarding year: 

• Be enrolled in the Master of Urban Horticulture and have completed 100 points of study OR
• Have completed the Master of Urban Horticulture

The prize is offered to students(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their course Weighted Average Mark (WAM) and personal statement

Student must submit an application and include:

• A personal statement addressing their passion for the field of Urban Horticulture and active involvement in Burnley Campus life (graduating students) OR
• a personal statement addressing their passion for the field of sustainable horticulture (second year Masters students)

Recipients must agree to the University sharing their name and their course details with the donor of this scholarship and provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.​​
