About the Scholarship

The P W Crohn Scholarship was established by Mrs Valerie Crohn (MSc 1948-Melb) in memory of her husband Peter Wolfgang Crohn, a graduate of the University of Melbourne who was noted for his research in Antarctic geology and glaciology. He was also a member of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition at Mawson and later Director of Mines of the Northern Territory.

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor of Science Honours, Master of Science or Postgraduate Diploma in Science (or their successors)
  • Be undertaking subjects in the School of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (or its successor).

Selection Criteria

The scholarship is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their Weighted Average Mark.

Preference is given to students pursuing studies in the field of Antarctic geology or glaciology, or in regional mapping in Australia, or who are experiencing financial disadvantage , if ranked fifth or higher.

Outcome

All scholarship outcomes will be sent via SmartyGrants.
