Dr Betty Elliott Horticulture Scholarship 2025

Dr Betty Rosina Elliott (dec. 20 March 2014) (Donor) was a former student of the University.

The Donor’s will left a number of bequests to the university, including a gift of $250,000 for the purpose of establishing in perpetuity one or more scholarships for post graduate students who have demonstrated academic ability, are in financial need, and will be undertaking research into sustainability in horticulture at the University of Melbourne.

The Dr Betty Elliott Horticulture Scholarship will be awarded to a postgraduate student (coursework or research) of academic excellence who is in financial need, and will be undertaking research in the field of sustainability in Horticulture.

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

• Be a postgraduate student in the field of sustainability in horticulture,
• Demonstrate Financial Need by submitting a Student Financial Assessment Form 

Eligible candidates will be ranked based on:

• Academic merit,
• Proposed Research project,
• Level of disadvantage based on financial need.

Applicants need to submit a Student Financial Assessment (SFA) Form to be considered for this award
